Job Description
The Associate Software Engineer – DevOps Engineer is responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle using a variety of technologies and tools to build impactful software solutions. The scope of this job includes building and optimizing comprehensive solutions that prioritize end-user efficiency and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure and applications on the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Contribute to automation scripts and workflows for deployment, configuration, and monitoring using tools like PowerShell, Bash, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration and deployment.
- Monitor system performance, help troubleshoot issues, and support optimization of system resources for improved scalability and reliability.
- Participate in resolving infrastructure and application issues to ensure maximum uptime.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and respond to incidents.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 0 – 2 years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to software engineering practices with an interest in DevOps.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Azure, PowerShell, and SQL Server.
- Awareness of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Introductory understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Azure Monitor, and Site24x7.
- Experience with source control systems like GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
