Job Description
Serco is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Microsoft Power Platform Engineer capable of understanding technical details across a wide variety of disciplines to join our Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO). This candidate will design, develop, and support low-code solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) in support of Department of the Navy programs. The ideal candidate holds an active U.S. Secret clearance and has hands-on experience working with the Navy’s Flankspeed environment and governance model. This role will partner with mission stakeholders, systems engineers, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable business and data solutions.
This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain/transfer your Secret clearance post-employment.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports/dashboards for Navy mission and administrative workflows.
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with DoN systems and services using Flankspeed-approved connectors and patterns; implement secure APIs and middleware where required.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Navy security policies, STIGs, accreditation/ATO requirements, and data handling rules when building and deploying solutions in Flankspeed and related enclaves.
- Implement Dataverse data models, manage connectors (including SharePoint, SQL, and custom connectors), and design secure data access and role-based security.
- Perform solution validation, unit/integration testing, user acceptance testing, and support production cutover and sustainment activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents; monitor performance and apply tuning or refactoring as needed.
- Participate in design reviews
- Provide documentation, runbooks, training materials, and user training for stakeholders and administrators.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- High School Diploma
- At least 1 year industry experience programming outside of school. Self taught experience maybe considered depending on level of expertise.
- At least 6 months industry experience developing production solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, ect). Self taught experience maybe considered depending on level of expertise.
- Strong stakeholder communication, documentation, and collaboration skills; ability to work with military and civilian personnel.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Additional Beneficial Qualifications:
- Understanding of DoN/DoD cybersecurity requirements and data classification handling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent military/industry experience.
- Direct, documented experience working with the Department of the Navy Flankspeed environment, including knowledge of Flankspeed connectors, deployment patterns, or governance.
- Experience with Dataverse, connector configuration, API integration, and common data sources (SharePoint, Azure SQL, on-prem connectors).
- Proficient with Power BI data modeling, DAX, and report/security design.
- Familiarity with scripting/development: Power Fx, JavaScript/TypeScript, PowerShell; experience with Azure services (Functions, AD/Azure AD) is desirable.
- Experience with working with MIL-STDs, MIL-SPECS, and NAVSEA drawings
- Experience writing or editing technical requirements
- Ability to be on-site at our Arlington, Virginia office three days a week
