Job Description
You will design, build, and maintain the Data Cloud Connector (DCC), the service that moves clinical data from hospital systems into GE HealthCare’s cloud. That data powers the analytics and AI tools clinicians use to make decisions about real patients. You will work across the full software lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and production support, on a distributed system that runs in hospitals around the world. Healthcare data standards are a big part of the work, and you do not need to know them coming in.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers, and software developers to build solutions that extend our shared platforms
- Write clean, tested code that meets team standards using the technologies selected for the project
- Build and maintain backend features such as web services and database queries
- Apply SDLC best practices including continuous integration, security, scalability, refactoring, and documentation
- Assess and improve application performance against defined targets
- Apply core data structures and algorithms to solve practical engineering problems
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field, with a minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience.
Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Java and/or Python, and with AWS cloud services
- Proficient with Git and modern source control workflows (branching, pull requests, code review) using GitHub and/or GitLab
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of automated testing at the unit, integration, end-to-end levels, and behavior-driven testing (e.g. Cucumber)
- Experience delivering software in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, XP, or Lean)
- Understanding of how technology and tooling choices affect development speed, quality, and maintainability
