Job Description

Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) has established itself as the enterprise utility for testing all end-to-end processes on behalf of the Second Line of Defense, Frontline Units (FLUs), and Control Functions (CFs), enabling more efficient and effective testing.
This role is responsible for developing capabilities such as models, analytical tools, and testing scripts that provide timely, actionable insights into the operational health of Bank of America’s processes. Key responsibilities include working with process owners to understand data, process flows, and controls; identifying risks; and designing effective testing and monitoring. Job expectations include creating methodologies to evaluate process and control effectiveness and compliance with laws, rules, and policies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Embodies EIT core skills: critical thinking, decisiveness, enterprise mindset, proactivity, project management, risk management, adaptability, collaboration, customer and client focus, effective written and verbal communication, and control rigor and discipline
  • Partners effectively with process and data owners in the FLUs/CFs, risk managers, Global Compliance Operational Risk (GCOR), and various teams within EIT that provide operational, data sourcing, and technology infrastructure support. Methodology outputs are used to drive process improvements and timely detection and reporting of errors
  • Uses methodology outputs, including analytical tools and testing scripts, to drive process improvements and timely detection of errors
  • Communicates effectively to explain the rationale, methodology details, and results to a broad set of audiences, including key senior stakeholders across the Bank, auditors, and regulators
  • Applies experience in process and operational excellence
  • Reviews test builds, maintenance, and quality assessments
  • Oversees the identification and handling of issue escalation/resolution to prevent delays in delivery and identify and leverage opportunities for automation where possible
  • Interacts extensively with internal or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems
  • Ensures effectiveness and compliance with laws, rules, and policies.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in fields including, but not limited to, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Process and Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Accounting, or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
  • 2 Years of relevant work experience

Required Skills:

  • Process Design: Ability to understand how work is executed within an organization, evaluate efficiencies, and identify areas for overall process improvement and growth
  • Test Development: Ability to design and document tests used to measure the effectiveness of the Bank’s processes and controls, as well as adherence to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies and procedures
  • Test Reporting: Ability to produce testing results, reporting, and data-driven insights for the test inventory
  • Test Development Life Cycle: Understands the end-to-end test development life cycle, from test request to development, execution, and dissemination of results. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet testing objectives
  • Programming Languages: Strong computational programming skills using programming languages or scripts such as Spark, R, C, Java, YAML, and others
  • Python: Strong programming skills using Python and its packages
  • Software Engineering: Understands the software engineering life cycle and can apply it to daily coding activities
  • Database Administration: Experience developing and maintaining complex databases and data sets
  • Automation: Ability to design, deploy, and refine predictive programming algorithms to minimize repetitive tasks and increase capacity by using real-time data to recognize patterns
  • Business Acumen and Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the product, the underlying business, and associated technical domains
  • Problem Solving: Approaches challenges creatively and effectively, even under constraints
