Job Description
As an Associate QA Engineer at impact.com, you will be responsible for understanding, testing and approving quality features through developing and executing comprehensive test plans. You will be working on experiences that help our customers achieve the best results on our platform. What You’ll Do:
- Dive into quality assurance checks during internal development, ensuring only top-notch code makes it to our QA team’s test environments and then production.
- Collaborate with engineers and PMs to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and ensure clear acceptance criteria.
- Craft structured test scenarios and scripts that reflect business and technical priorities, getting them approved by key stakeholders.
- Create and execute tests, meticulously recording your findings.
- Participate in bug triage and release readiness reviews, providing clear, actionable feedback to ensure confident deployments.
- Uncover, document, and track bugs with a keen eye for detail, working with developers to see them through to resolution.
- Prepare and maintain essential test plan documentation, including test cases, activity schedules, and progress reports.
- Collaborate closely with each line of business on test planning, execution, and results analysis.
- Take charge of your time, reporting, monitoring, risk management, issue resolution, quality assurance, and change management.
- Act as a quality champion, supporting fellow team members to elevate the team’s testing practices.
What You Bring:
- 1+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance: A proven track record of ensuring high-quality software delivery.
- Experience in a professional software development environment: Understanding of the software development lifecycle and how QA fits in.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks: Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar, and the ability to write and maintain automated test scripts.
- Ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases: Ability to create thorough and effective testing strategies.
- Experience with testing methodologies and tools: Familiarity with various approaches to software testing and relevant applications.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL: Ability to query and understand data for testing purposes.
- Able to work independently on projects and collaborate with development teams: Demonstrated ability to manage your own work and contribute to a team.
- Proficiency with common version control systems like Git: Understanding of how code changes are managed.
- A full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Ability to discern and negotiate requirements with product leaders.
- A drive to learn and share new things: Eagerness to stay updated with industry best practices and contribute to team knowledge.
- The ability to quickly learn new systems and domains: Adaptability to new technologies and business areas.
