Job Description

We’re a collaborative, product-focused engineering team building the technology platform behind one of the fastest-growing leagues in professional sports. We’re looking for an early-career Jr. Software Engineer with 1-3 years of experience who enjoys solving problems and wants to grow alongside experienced engineers — contributing across our web platform, mobile app, and internal systems while gaining full-stack experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and enhance fan-facing product experiences, including player profiles, game statistics, live scoring, fan voting, challenges, newsletters, and other interactive features.
  • Develop internal tools that support league operations, content management, player administration, media workflows, and game operations.
  • Contribute to full-stack product development, including user interfaces, server-side functionality, database interactions, validation, and application security.
  • Maintain and improve integrations with third-party platforms and internal services.
  • Help build and enhance our Expo/React Native mobile application.
  • Troubleshoot bugs, improve application performance, and contribute to ongoing platform stability.
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with teammates to maintain high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to deliver features that improve the fan and employee experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably building customer-facing web applications.
  • Strong foundation in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience building applications with React.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive web development.
  • Experience working with Git, pull requests, and collaborative software development workflows.
  • Experience integrating APIs and debugging production applications.
  • Ability to understand and extend an existing codebase while following established engineering patterns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to continuously learn.
  • Experience working in a startup or other fast-paced product environment.
  • Bonus: experience with:
    • Next.js, React Native/Expo
    • Relational databases such as PostgreSQL 
    • Modern ORMs and API development
    • Utilizing AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
