As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced TypeScript Developer to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

Duties of the TypeScript Developer will include the following:

  • Front-end development: design and build user-facing web applications in TypeScript that highlight, share, and integrate spatial data. 
  • Spatial data visualization: build interactive maps and views that make complex geospatial data understandable and usable. 
  • Reusable foundations: develop reusable components and patterns that carry across current and future front-end applications. 
  • Integration: work with the API and data teams to connect applications to live data and services. 
  • Collaboration & quality: collaborate across the Science, Engineering, Platform, and Applications teams, writing tested, maintainable, and reproducible code and clear documentation

Qualifications

The TypeScript Developer selected should have the following:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s in computer science, software engineering, GIS, or a related field; or equivalent hands-on experience in place of a degree. 
  • Strong front-end development skills in TypeScript and a modern framework such as React. 
  • Experience building interactive, data-rich web interfaces. 
  • Comfort connecting applications to REST/JSON APIs and working with structured data. 
  • Comfort with Git and modern web build and deployment tooling. 

The Ideal TypeScript Developer will have the following:

  • Project coordination or technical project-management experience (e.g., Agile workflows, roadmap and backlog, cross-team delivery). 
  • Experience with web mapping libraries (e.g., MapLibre GL, Leaflet, or deck.gl) and tile formats such as PMTiles or vector tiles. 
  • Familiarity with spatial data formats and services (e.g., GeoJSON, map services). 
  • A strong eye for usability and clean, accessible interface design. 
  • Interest in environmental, water-resources, or scientific data applications. 
  • Colorado Front Range presence for periodic in-person collaboration.
