BlackSky is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Intern to join our Platform Test team for a Summer 2026 internship. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will assist with both manual and automated testing of BlackSky’s web-based applications. As an intern, you will contribute to test planning, automation framework development, and troubleshooting, while gaining exposure to BlackSky’s innovative satellite geospatial platform. This position is in Herndon, VA and the candidate must be able to work from that office on a hybrid basis. This is a paid summer internship position.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to perform system-level integration test of BlackSky’s platform applications.
- Assist in creating and executing test plans, incorporating a combination of manual and automated testing.
- Work closely with developers to understand software design and functionality purposes.
- Contribute to the development improvement of automated test frameworks and scripts using Python.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues and participate in code reviews.
