Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with coworkers to deeply understand customer needs, design thoughtful systems that solve real-world problems, and build best-in-class product experiences. Our stack is TypeScript (frontend and backend), Postgres, and React, but prior experience is not required.

In this role, you will

  • Own the scoping, design, and development of product features.
  • Identify and fix bugs and technical debt.
  • Collaborate with Support to address technical issues for customers

What excites us

  • You have an undergraduate degree and 1+ years of fulltime experience.
  • Experience with frontend development is a plus, but not required.
  • You think through problems thoroughly to ensure we’re building the right solution to the right problem at the right time, and you will push back when necessary.
  • Your designs take into account current and future needs, technical debt, and maintenance, and you can clearly articulate the tradeoffs.
  • You level up the people around you by sharing your knowledge and experience.

Selection Process

Anrok’s hiring pipeline is structured to evaluate both technical depth and practical engineering judgment:

  1. Application Screening
Resume + portfolio/GitHub review focusing on real-world projects and problem-solving.
  2. Technical Assessment
Typically a take-home assignment or live coding (data structures, APIs, system logic).
  3. Technical Interviews (2–3 Rounds)
    • Backend/API design
    • Debugging and code reasoning
    • System design fundamentals (scaled to early-career level)
  4. Behavioral / Culture Fit
Evaluates ownership mindset, curiosity, and ability to work in ambiguity.
  5. Final Round / Hiring Manager Chat
Discussion around team fit, expectations, and long-term growth.

How To Apply

  • Visit Anrok’s official careers page (search “Anrok Careers”).
  • Filter for Software Engineer – Early Career / New Grad roles.
  • Prepare:
    • A strong resume highlighting projects, internships, or open-source work
    • GitHub or portfolio demonstrating clean, production-style code
  • Tailor your application to emphasize:
    • Experience with APIs, backend systems, or data workflows
    • Comfort with ownership and shipping features

Pro tip: Candidates with hands-on experience building end-to-end applications (frontend + backend + database) tend to stand out significantly.
