As a Software Engineer II within the GCI teams, you’ll leverage your creativity and technical skills to solve complex problems, elevate customer satisfaction, and drive Mimecast’s mission forward. You will primarily work on modern UI technologies, with opportunities to contribute to backend services as well.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and Develop: Deliver robust, scalable, and intuitive UI solutions using Angular (v18+), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related frameworks/libraries.
- Sprint Ownership: Participate in all agile ceremonies, taking full ownership of sprint tasks and deliverables.
- Peer Collaboration: Conduct code reviews, share knowledge, and promote best practices within the team.
- UX Focus: Evaluate and implement UX designs, providing constructive feedback to enhance usability.
- API Integration: Collaborate with backend/API teams to ensure efficient, seamless integration of RESTful services.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain clear, accessible technical documentation.
- Incident Response: Participate in critical incident support and proactively implement preventive measures.
- AWS Deployment: Build, deploy, and maintain web applications using AWS services.
- Security & Performance: Write efficient, secure, and resilient code that minimizes downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring
- UI Expertise: Strong experience building modern front-end applications with Angular 18+, Angular Material, and NX/NX Cloud (or similar tools).
- UX & Performance: Skilled in optimizing and modernizing legacy UI systems for performance and scalability.
- Backend Knowledge: Experience (or exposure) in Java (Java 11+) and REST APIs is a plus.
- AI-Driven Tools: Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor) is highly desired.
- DevOps Proficiency: Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
- Cloud Skills: Experience with AWS services—such as ALB, ECS, S3, ElastiCache, IAM, CloudWatch, and S3 Glacier—is highly valued.
- Database Know-How: Understanding of both relational and NoSQL databases, including design and optimization.
- Team Player: Excellent collaboration skills and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
