Job Description

G2 is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Paid Search Specialist to join our high performing Performance Marketing team. This is a great opportunity to expand your skill set and take on new challenges across the digital landscape, including day-to-day management of paid search campaigns (in platform) and key projects for the G2 Digital Markets web properties (Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice). This role will report to the Manager, Paid Search. 

Location: We prefer candidates based in Austin, TX and able to work hybrid (2 days/week in office), but are open to US-based remote candidates for the right fit.

In This Role, the Paid Search Specialist will be responsible for: 

  • Day to day performance. First and foremost, this role will be focused on driving revenue with a great ROAS via our paid search channel, across Google and Bing, including optimizations around bidding, creative and audiences.
  • Building & optimizing paid search campaigns. Within your first few weeks you’ll be responsible for managing several high budget key accounts.
  • Acting as a Paid Search Subject Matter Expert: You will be leveraged as the Paid Search subject matter expert and you will be one of the main experts about all things Paid Search.
  • Data driven decision making. Leverage in-house reporting systems and analytical tools to become a master of data driven analysis and optimizations and improve campaign performance.
  • Global collaboration: You will collaborate globally with our teams in the US and in Europe to report the performance, results, and trends of the Paid Search campaigns on a regular basis.

How a day will look:

  • 80% → Campaign strategy, planning, execution and optimization: Create, test, iterate and optimize the Paid Search campaigns in Google and Bing.
  • 10% → Reporting: Report on performance (Results & data driven reasons) of your campaigns, your action plans, roadmap and your forecast to the other team members.
  • 10% → Collaborating: Engage with diverse internal teams (spanning analytics, creative, marketing ops, and technical departments) to ensure seamless alignment on campaign deliverables and timelines. Build strong relationships with ad platform representatives to stay ahead of industry developments and drive innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience managing Paid Search campaigns.
  • Experience managing at least 10K-20k monthly USD budget.
  • A knack for reporting and Excel. You feel comfortable analyzing large data sets and know all the important Excel functions like sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, concatenations, and pivot tables.
  • Problem-solving skills. You possess the experience, intellect, and know-how to analyze your campaigns, think through action items, and execute them confidently.
  • A driven and self-starting personality. You should have a thirst to constantly learn more about digital marketing through reading, continued training and learning from other team members as you grow in this role and with our business.
  • A bachelor’s degree and/or relevant marketing certifications. Exceptions can be made with strong real-world experience.
  • Must be US-based. Austin, TX candidates preferred (hybrid 2 days/week); open to fully remote for the right candidate.
