We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated M.Tech graduates specializing in Power Systems to join our Power Systems Study team. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to work on real-world power system challenges and build strong expertise in network modeling, simulation studies, and system analysis.
As a Graduate Power Systems Engineer, you will support senior engineers in developing power system models, conducting simulations, and delivering analytical insights to clients in the power distribution domain.
Key Responsibilities
In this entry-level role, you will:
- Assist in developing and validating power system network models using client data.
- Perform basic to intermediate simulation studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and stability analysis under guidance.
- Support asset sizing activities for electrical equipment such as transformers, cables, and switchgear.
- Contribute to preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation of study results.
- Work with senior engineers to analyze system performance under different operating conditions.
- Participate in reactive power compensation, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
- Continuously learn and apply industry standards, grid codes, and best practices in power systems.
Essential Qualifications
Education:
- M.Tech / M.E. / M.S. in Power Systems, Energy Management, or related specialization (recent graduates preferred)
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of power system fundamentals (load flow, fault analysis, protection basics)
- Basic exposure to power system simulation tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSS/E, or similar
Skills:
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment
Desirable Qualifications
- Academic project or thesis work related to power system analysis or grid studies
- Internship or training experience in power system consulting/utilities
- Basic knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or Excel-based analysis
- Familiarity with grid codes, standards, or regulatory frameworks
- Research publications or participation in technical conferences
