Design Engineer Associate

The Position’s mission is to Support the Power Efficiency Solutions (PES) Motors Solutions business by executing Requisition Activities. Execute drafting and documentation requests for Samples, New Model Releases and Engineering Changes within predefined time and zero error. The role will report to the PES Motors Solutions Director of Technology

Major Responsibilities

• Provides tactical support to design or improve basic components and products with a basic understanding of design tools and methods.
• Optimizes basic components and products with a basic understanding of analysis methods.
• Assists in solving basic problems with an aptitude for basic problem-solving skills.
• Support Mechanical Design activities like Modelling, Drawing and bill of materials for the new product development for Global CR Business.
• Owns Sampling, New Model Releases, Engineering Changes and related requisition activities.
• Support Material Cost out and Simplification Projects.
• May assist in capturing voice of customers and development of simple product specifications. Translates customer needs to manufacturing requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in all above activities.
• May assist in developing basic test plans from existing test protocol for routine products or components.
• Execute engineering change requests & release of new models/components for customers, MCOs, & NPDs.
• Support sampling, NMRs, BOM work, and documentation for China & Piedras Negras plants.
• Partner with engineers & application team to produce required BOMs & drawings.
• Improve NMR & ECR Leadtime by 50% YOY with no impact to drafting errors.
• Provide responsive, helpful support to internal and external customers. Assist in follow-up communication to ensure positive customer interactions
• undefinedRequired Education / Experience / Skills:Diploma / bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering 0-2+ years’ experience in motors, machines & electronics.
• Demonstrated proficiency in operation and use of CAD tools, preferably SolidWorksKnowledge of Mechanical Drawing Industry Standards, Tolerances, Notes, and Material Specifications.
• Must have very good computer skills sets.
• Good organization skills and work accuracy.
• Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Good communication skills self-motivated & must work well with others while building relationships.
• Highly customer centric individual who moves quickly to resolve issues.
• Desired Education / Experience / Skills:Green Belt Trained or Certified.
• Experienced with a PLM (Product Life Management) system.Familiarity with HVAC systems, electric motors, or airflow conceptsTravel: 0-5%Language: English
