Monotype is looking for a sharp, investigative Data Analyst to help us keep our company and contact data accurate, complete, and reliable. You'll research companies and contacts, verify and enrich records, and judge which sources and data points can be trusted. You'll also take part in workflow automation projects that make data maintenance faster and more consistent.
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys digging into how companies are structured, notices when something doesn't look right, and wants to understand why a data problem keeps happening, not just fix the record in front of them.
What you’ll be doing:
- Identify and resolve duplicates, outdated records, conflicting information, and incorrect account-contact relationships in Salesforce and connected systems.
- Research and verify company information, including legal names, parent and subsidiary relationships, locations, industries, domains, and firmographic details.
- Build and maintain accurate account hierarchies that reflect how companies are organized, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, rebrands, and regional entities.
- Use a mix of sources (company websites, public filings, business databases, third-party providers) to confirm and fill in missing information, analyzing and evaluating to identify which is most reliable.
- Follow and help improve data standards, naming conventions, and research guidelines. Ask clarifying questions to get to the real need behind a request, not just the stated ask.
- Contribute to automation projects in Syncari, Slack, and AI tools that streamline research, enrichment, matching, and data maintenance.
- Share hands-on knowledge of data problems to help shape automation requirements and edge cases.
- Test workflows, review outputs for accuracy, and report issues.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in data research, data operations, sales operations, or a similar role (internships and relevant projects count).
- Solid understanding of how companies are structured, including parent companies, subsidiaries, legal entities, divisions, brands, and how mergers and acquisitions affect them.
- Basic understanding of usage of AI tools like ChatGPT.
- Strong critical thinking skills and good judgment about source credibility and data quality.
- A sharp eye for patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies.
- Ability to investigate a problem, narrow down likely causes, and suggest a sensible solution.
- High attention to detail and comfort with repetitive work where accuracy matters.
