Sales

  • Will be based in important towns in various parts of India.
  • The role consists of managing Dealers, Modern Retail and Canteen Stores Department.
  • This role requires intensive travel and a good knowledge of the local language.
  • Also involves supervising and managing merchandisers and redistribution salesmen.
  • The achievement of sales target comes with monthly incentives which may add up to a further 5 lakhs per annum.
  • May have an opportunity to attend foreign conferences based upon experience and performance.
  • The next higher role is that of a Regional Sales Manager where the person is responsible for looking after a State or a group of States.

Marketing

  • Hawkins runs a Test Kitchen at its Marketing Office situated in Mahim West, Mumbai.
  • The Test Kitchen is central to initiatives in new product development, product improvement and dealing with consumers’ cooking questions.
  • It conducts extensive cooking trials, publishes reports and writes precise recipes with clear instructions.
  • The Test Kitchen trains company personnel in the right way to cook using Hawkins products.
  • It also conducts cooking demonstrations at dealer conferences in India and in cities like New York, Paris, Geneva and Dubai.
  • The Test Kitchen tries out new products from the consumers’ point of view and guides the Research and Development centre at Thane on product design.

  • A good understanding of statistics and current data management software is essential.

  • An integrated part of the product design responsibility is to assist R&D and manufacturing team to productionise the product, generate mock ups, make rapid prototypes and create and test working models.
  • The design function in Hawkins is very hands-on and the product designer should not only be able to design aesthetic products but also find elegant functional solutions.
  • As we are a manufacturing Company, the person will get a good understanding of productionising the designs as to which will work and which will not.
  • The product designers are also required to modify existing designs to solve manufacturing problems, quality problems and update surface finishes, etc., all the while keeping the convenience of the ultimate consumer in mind.
  • Product Design role will involve designing and manufacture of cookware, electrical appliances, embedded systems design, electronic controls and sensors, productionising, metal forming and finishing and extensive testing of products.
  • A flair for writing would be useful.

Tool Making & Design

  • The role involves understanding the requirement of the Tools and Dies required by the manufacturing team and ensure timely availability of the Tools and Dies to meet the production targets.
  • Closely interact with the R&D team and assist the team in preparing tools and dies required for productionising the new products to be introduced in the market.
  • Also will involve working in projects to improve quality, increase output and reduce costs by improving tool and fixture design.
  • Diploma holders, Graduates and post Graduates in Tool Design and Manufacture are required.
  • There are two aspects of this role, one is designing tools for various draw, deep draw, injection moulding type of operations, the other aspect is getting tools manufactured for different types of applications.
  • The substantial part of the work beyond tool design and manufacture would be in process improvement and designing jigs and fixtures, new product manufacturing, etc.

Sourcing & Supply Chain

  • We are looking for Supply Chain Trainees to join our procurement team. The procurement team supports the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives and supply chain optimisation projects.
  • The Supply Chain is spread out in India and other parts of the world and involves make or buy decisions.
  • You will assist in managing the procurement process, supplier relationships, and supply chain optimisation.
  • Hawkins works closely with suppliers to improve their quality, increase the quantity and in reducing costs.
  • A good understanding of the area – or an ability to quickly learn about an area like, say, glassware or casting or injection moulding will be useful.
  • The team will be responsible for importing and working on active import substitution and projects to improve quality and reduce costs.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

  • Diploma holders, Engineering Graduates and Postgraduates needed in Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering and Machine Design, Industrial Engineering, Material Science or Robotics.
  • Hawkins makes its products in India in its three factories and other component suppliers. Role in manufacturing will involve running a press shop, machine shop, or anodising shop, or assembly shops, leading teams of workers to produce high quality products. They may also involve commissioning of new machines and import of new technology.
  • Roles in Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance will involve preventive maintenance of machines and electrical installations.
  • In Quality Control the role will involve quality improvement, problem solving, setting of quality standards, testing and quality control.
  • Various projects will involve knowledge of statistical quality control techniques, root cause analysis, quality circles, quality and process documentation, testing-destructive and non-destructive, quality improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to certification from ISI, UL, CE, will train the person in managing these aspects.
  • The Quality team also deals with a regular quality comparison with products made by various plants and competition and is a key success factor of Hawkins.

Stores & Despatch

  • Check and receive incoming material for quality and quantity as per the invoices, purchase orders. Accounting the finished goods received from the manufacturing and stacking as per the prescribed norms.
  • Timely issue material as per the requisitions of the manufacturing departments and ensure that the finished goods are despatched to the destinations as per the despatch plan and schedule given by the Corporate Distribution team.
  • Maintain stocks as per the Company’s inventory policy.
  • Review physical quantities periodically and advise required actions such for procurement of short items / disposal of obsolete material suitably, maintain stocks of the finished goods, periodical stack taking and reconciliation with finished goods received from Manufacturing and despatched as per the plans received.
