As a Linux Administrator specializing in scripting, OS customization, and cloud technologies, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing Linux-based systems. Your role involves scripting for automation, customizing operating systems to meet specific requirements, and integrating cloud services for enhanced scalability and efficiency.
Basic Requirements
- Responsibilities: Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers. Implement OS customizations to optimize performance and meet specific requirements. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) for automating routine tasks. Streamline system processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Create custom scripts for specific system requirements.
- Cloud Integration: Deploy, configure, and manage Linux-based instances on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Implement and manage cloud services like virtual machines, storage, and networking. Optimize systems for cloud-based environments.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures for both on-premises and cloud environments. Conduct regular security audits and respond to incidents. Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
- User Account Management: Create, modify, and delete user accounts. Manage permissions and access control in both traditional and cloud environments.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and test backup strategies for both on-premises and cloud environments. Perform data recovery tasks as needed.
- Networking and Integration: Configure and troubleshoot network settings. Configure and Maintain network switches and routers. Collaborate with network administrators to ensure seamless integration with cloud services.
- Documentation: Create and maintain system documentation, including customizations and cloud configurations. Develop and update operational procedures for both traditional and cloud-based systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator, with expertise in administering and customizing RHEL operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with shell scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or Perl. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid understanding of network protocols, services (DNS, DHCP), and security principles.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Professional certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or similar are highly desirable.
